HOLY COW! I Just Tried To Have A Live Chat With Medicare And Found That I Would Have To Agree With The Government's Total Access To My Computer And It's Files To Communicate.

The internet is an open book. I really don't care what information they have from me. Most of it is great anyway. Now if I really had something to hide, that would be a different story.

If you were trying to talk on the phone, how did they even know you had a computer to take over? If you were trying to communicate over your computer, shame on you. They already have your ISP, etc. Any government can say anything they wish. If you comply, that is your fault. But yes, Americans have been giving up their rights for many more years than I've been alive. It is nothing new. ie: wire taps

Don't do it. Let them use executive orders. Force them to violate our rights, but don't be suprised when they do anyway.

As Big Ben Franklin is noted for saying

If people keep giving up their privacy at the whim of the government we will have NONE left, it's bad enough already.

Is anyone surprised? Seriously, the internet began its life in the government. Our current government wants to control our every move and so far we've rolled over and played dead, and let them have their way with our Constitution. So it goes until people wake up & smell the nerve gas or something like that. Do you have a contingency plan made for your family?

This disclaimer has been used for over 10 years now, probably since the internet began.
    example: http://cfpub.epa.gov/
"This page last updated: July 6, 2001"

It's nothing new and is standard, it doesn't mean you are giving them permission to access all the files on your computer. If you ran a huge website then your lawyers would suggest something similar.

You are so right! Should people get their eyes open before the 15th of December, when the electoral college votes, we could save ourselves. I just read today that when Thomas Jefferson and Aaron Burr ran for President, Burr actually had the popular vote. When the EC voted, they were actually TIED in the electoral college. After much wrangling, it was decided that Jefferson should win and Burr be VP. Why are we not getting ready to refuse to vote? We've just gotten a small taste of the next 4 years. They are working together on that fiscal cliff fiasco. Do you dare what's next? How about medicare? How about, you name it, if its bad for the USA we're going to get it. Hang on to your guns cuz you're gonna need em at the rate were going!

I use more than one computer just to be safe. Not that I have anything to hide, I just can't stand being spied on.

I once denied all incoming traffic without permission and a locator trace on all IPs. I kept logs. One particular IP persistently pinged me, and I allowed it a few times. Then I traced it and it came back as a technician in Fort Huachuca, AZ. I denied access, and my internet connection was cut. It stayed cut until I re-allowed it, and I had internet again.

I called the tech with the information I got from ERIN, and she claimed it must have been a mistake that her computer was accessing mine constantly.

There is a easy way around that. Buy your self a one or two Terabite storage drive and put all your files on that drive. Then before you talk to them, unplug it from your computer. It is a good idea that you unplug it at all times that you are not on the computer. It also will help to have all government agencies that you communicate with set up on an alert command at all times. They must have your permission to get or give a responce.

Does anyone else have the feeling that, since the elecion, SodaHead is turning into a wacky conspiracy-theory site, like ATS or InfoWars?

If ANYBODY thinks they can USE the internet at ALL, and still have total privacy, you never read any scifi, huh? Study science/history/business in school? The International Corporate Empire has known all about you and your silly little "private life" for 30 years - government is just trying to catch up.

Your very old, VERY dated conspiracy fears are just so darned cute . . . . you have NO IDEA how tame your ideas are compared to what's REALLY happening.

I can never get over the astonishment of people that the Government might need the same access as a computer tech would to help assist you via remote access. If uncle wants to look on folks you can best believe NSA and other agencies have the tools to do so. Either allow it or look the info up by different method.

The NSA currently collects and stores for up to 10 yrs., every single email sent over the Net. Their reason is for the 'safety' of the country. And at any time they wish, they can investigate any US citizen for any reason they 'deem' necessary...they jus wanna be helpful....
