So...... it's been a slow night.... and borrowing inspiration from another poll....
Herpes.
Yay or Nay?
Now... don't be to hasty.... think this one through. We all know (or should) that Herpes can be a real pain in the.... well... many different places actually.... But perhaps they have a bad rap....
Maybe there are some good things that can come from Herpes. And it's not like you have them ALL the time... they do come and go... Although you can give them pretty much all the time... It's the gift that keeps on giving.
Most people don't realize there are different types of herpes and we ALL already carry the virus in our bodies... a cold sore on the lip or on the gums, is a form of Herpes.
So... given the choice of Herpes or not.... Yay or Nay?
Herpes.

I like perverts.... be my friend?
For example - I don't. I've never had a cold sore in 31 years of life. It annoys me, though, that people who GET cold sores are so flippant about the situation. One of my friends asked to borrow my chapstick, used it, handed it back to me and said 'thanks - I have a cold sore and it just won't go away'. I'm like BIOTCH!!!! If you told me, I'd have stopped at a drug store (chemist, for those not in the US) to get a cheaper chapstick. I'd given her my favorite vanilla cupcake flavored balm! I had to throw it out. :-(
People who carry any version of the herpes virus need to be very, very careful! UGH.
From the NY health department: Chickenpox is transmitted from person to person by directly touching the blisters, saliva or mucus of an infected person. The virus can also be transmitted through the air by coughing and sneezing. Chickenpox can be spread indirectly by touching contaminated items freshly soiled, such as clothing, from an infected person. Direct contact with the blisters of a person with shingles can cause chickenpox in a person who has never had chickenpox and has not been vaccinated. Blisters that are dry and crusted are no longer able to spread chickenpox.
If I ever had a flare-up of this virus (probably as shingles, if it happened), then I would take the proper precautions and try not to infect anyone else.
That's all I ask of people with OTHER forms of the Herpes Virus - like the one that produces cold sores (Herpes Simplex Virus) do the same and exercise caution when they have an outbreak. Is that really too much to ask? Most people (and this upcoming generation will have far more people who don't have it - thanks to the vaccine against chicken pox) may have a FORM of the Herpes Virus, but that doesn't mean we can't catch OTHER forms of it - some far more painful and annoying than the one we have.
Listerine kisses are the way to go and no more french kissing!
