    Well ..
let's just say fences don't fix themselves,
Stalls need to be cleaned on a regular schedule
Troughs need to be cleaned too
And bales of hay don't move themselves!

I grew up on a farm in NW Kansas, we now have a small farm in central Kansas. We live in town, I work for a school and I go to the farm before and after school. In two weeks we are moving our cattle to their summer pastures.

a few years ago I worked on an organic farm 1 day/week.
Was paid in produce for my efforts and LOVED being there. Not sure that I would want to do this full time but it gave me much more respect for those who do choose farming.
It was beautiful there and how I loved getting my hands dirty and eating berries right off the vine. I tried new things I never would have eaten and expanded my culinary skills.

Yes, in a cowshed. I also helped make the head band, as committed to his feet in calf cows belly and finally with a ribbon, we pulled out. It was amazing.

I've lived on a VERY small farm since I was little, we raised goats, and rabbits, nothing else, we also had some fruit trees and a small vegetable garden.

I've never lived on one or been in charge of one but my grandparents on both sides of my family had farms and some of my aunts and uncles did as well.

So yes, I've done some farm work, but never on a regular basis.

I was raised on a farm. I've put up hay and raised many animals, cattle, hogs, rabbits, chickens. I was late to school a few times because some sort of animals were out and had to get them back in the fence! Little Mister loves to go visit the farm, he says some day he's going to live on one, and that's fine with me!

I've helped out my friends on their farms, but never worked or got paid for working on a farm, unless you count picking cherries as a kid.
