I have seen things, and I begged my spirit to get back in my body! Some of the things out there are worse than death, and yet we continue to live here!

Yes, about 6 times, and I did. It sux, I was conscious for the resuscitation part of 4 of those and that ain't a picnic either, although getting stabbed with a cardiac syringe is vastly preferable to defibrillation if your conscious, you pull all the muscles from your right shoulder to the point of you left hip when they hit you with those paddles if you're awake and have those muscle tensed, it hurt for 6 weeks.

When I was 12 years old I was swimming in a lake when a speed boat going very fast was heading right for me. Just before the boat was going to hit me, it veered off. I thought for sure that boat was going to hit me and in those few seconds, I prepared to die.

When I was 3 and I dove through the window and needed 300 stitches. I cried and told my mom I was too young to die and the doctor said I was lucky I dove instead of crashing through. Otherwise I would've lost too much blood and died on the way to the hospital.

Yes. I was hospitalized with fever of unknown origin for months when I was in my 20's. They discovered I had bacterial endocarditis and spinal meningitis and I was isolated and not expected to live. That was over 40 years ago. When I survived I made the medical books but was told I could never have children because of the damage to my heart. The beauty of being young is that you feel you are infallible and so I proceeded to have two children, wore a heart monitor and I was fine. All these years later they have discovered that the event damaged more than just one valve and only now in my 60's is it causing me some minor problems. But, i am not worried. I feel pretty lucky. However, those months when I was so ill were pretty awful. Test after test....very scary....spinal taps, a million procedures....I never talk about it but I did see the white light and the whole thing when the meningitis reached the base of the brain.....but even then I somehow knew I would survive. Now I don't think I would be so courageous. I think with age I have become a wimp. LOL I wasn't afraid then. After watching two parents pass away and nursing a husband through pancreatic cancer who died....I just hope that one day I will go in my sleep. It will eventually happen to us all.....but peo...

It will eventually happen to us all.....but people on the brink of death, DO see their loved ones...I witnessed it with both parents and my spouse. Whether it is imagined or real, in my opinion, death comes peacefully( in most normal cases) when the final moment arrives.....

    well, first - - I know I'm going to die. that's a no-brainer.

second - - I have, three times, thought my death was imminent:
the first time was the result of a staff infection. I know my temperature was 112 and the pain was excruciating. my parents were told I might not make it through the night. then - - I did.
the second time was in a car, on the highway, during a blizzard. it still feels like a miracle that I didn't die that day.
the third time was just prior to a scheduled cancer biopsy. then the lump mysteriously disappeared, making the biopsy unnecessary. _I_ credit the creative visualization I was doing to remove the lump. of course, modern medicine would never agree with me.

so, I assume that when it does come, it will be on little cat feet. and overdue.

There is no way you could have had a fever of 112 degrees. Humans die when their temperature hits 107 or 108.

At your age, this preponderance on thoughts of death is disconcerting.
