I'm amazed that some people have not (unless they have a fear of water). I haven't for a year now though, sadly.

I've done that all of my life. I don't live very far from the sea. I couldn't ever not be near it.

Lots of times, but just ordinary swimming in the ocean can be tiring and irritating to my eyes. I way prefer scuba diving in the ocean and doing just plain old swimming in a fresh water pool.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but the way the question is phrased, the use of "swum", the past participle of "swim" is correct.

According to Webster's Dictionary "swum" is the past participle of "swim". Ergo, "Today I swim, yesterday I swam, and often I have swum in the ocean". Participles can be annoying little buggers.
