It wasn't as bad as people made it out to be. I was told I had to show up every day for a week. I sat around & read for the 1st 2 days. Got picked for a trial, late Wed. morning, the whole trial took 1 afternoon & I was done for the rest of the week
I've been called several times but always excused because I worked in the legal field. Lawyers don't want anyone on the jury who might have some actual knowledge of the law.
It showed just how poorly the police in Richmond, Virginia built a case. They spent tens of thousands (or more) dollars, plus over one year to build a very flimsy case against a young gay man for selling drugs that he did not use or sell. What a waste of taxpayer money. I moved out of Richmond shortly thereafter, and bought a home two counties away from the crime and violence.
We couldn't agree on a DUI case and so it ended in mistrial. I also was empaneled and seated on another jury when they settled just before the trial actually began.
Have a nice day !
Grrr!

More boring and droll than people give it credit for.
