caught o coworker while we are on a 50 ft frame building, he got ill and was about to go over, tore up my knee in the process

also caught a bridge shard from impaling the throat of another co-worker, it was literally on his thraot, all he ended up with was a scratch

also have pushed people out of the way of oncoming traffic on three occasions including my daughters to carying degrees of injury to myself

I figure that's what us bigger guys are here for to take the brunt of the blow because someone smaller might not live through it

Disarmed a man with an assault rifle who was holding it on a woman with an infant held in front of her against the barrel of the gun. Then called police.

Also did CPR and rescue breathing on a woman who crashed into a tree on a horse. It was very strange but I knew it was about to happen when she went racing by my yard; something just didn't look right. So I had 911 on the phone when it happened and I heard a scream. Met her later and she recognized my voice. Said she'd cussed me for about a month while she was in such terrible pain in ICU trauma unit but then blessed me as she began to heal. She wears an eye patch now since she lost her eye but she kept hugging me over and over and asked me out to party and celebrate her recovery. Cool. :)

Not a human life. I'm pretty sure my cat would have died as a kitten if I hadn't found and fed her.

I was in the hospital after surgery (but conscious because I turned down the second pain shot) when my roommate started having heart attack symptoms. She didn't speak English and the nurses didn't speak enough Spanish to understand her. They thought she was just complaining about pain from her surgery, but I speak enough Spanish to know she was complaining of chest pain and shortness of breath. They weren't answering our buzzers, so I walked down to the nurses station and told them what she was saying. They immediately brought in a crash cart and then took her to ICU when she was stable.

I'm not sure if she would have died if I hadn't done anything, but considering what the team of doctors were saying while they worked on her before taking her to ICU, I think they thought she was dying.

Talked somebody out of a suicide on the midnight of their 16th birthday.
Never forget to call and let people know they're important. Sometimes, you have no clue how badly they need it.

Yes. Was driving through a town with narrow roads and plenty tourists. I saw in the corner of my eye view something like a shade moving towards my car. I slam on the brakes, a short iiiick from the tyres, stop. The car was down with the nose, I could see a child right in front of the bonnet. When the car came out of the springs the child was gone (too short), I saw it then, through the side window, running back to the parents ...
The devil is a liar. His planned crash was avoided.

I pulled my friend out of the street as a car was speeding by, It scraped her arm and caused a pretty
nasty bruise but atleast she's alive. Oh and my mom
was driving and we were about to drive at a green light
when an oblivious bike was riding passed us, I had to
scream at my mom to stop. We barely avoided an accident.

One of my nephews was choking on a bit of apple.I performed the Heimleich and dislodged it! Years before that, I had to put myself in front of a lawn tractor that his older brother was about to drive over a ledge. I held it up until he could get it in reverse and moved away from danger.

Dude. You rock! Had to do Heimlich on myself one night when I was alone and it was freaky. I don't know if I'd be able to pick up a lawn tractor but adrenaline can do some wild things. Good job!

Thanks, Raven! All I had to do was put myself in front of it and push back so it wouldn't go over the ledge. I guess I had that adrenaline rush and it made my legs stronger than the 12.5 horsepower of that tractor. ;-)

Yesterday my 3 year old grandson in our pool. His sister had taken his floaties off, and thought he could "learn" to swim. She is 6, and was going to give him swimming lessons. He wasn't ready for that, and as he was gasping and going down for the 2nd time, when I got to him. It was pretty scary! Both were fine, and after they finished crying had a feast of fruit and chocolate pudding. Egad, grandchildren will age you!

    It was pretty awful.

He was a friend and colleague and he just dropped dead in the office. I carried out CPR until the paramedics arrived but to no avail.
