Personally, no. Only Harry Potter & LotR have both had movies created that I have liked almost equally.

    I actually liked the last Harry Potter movie better than the book. But that's the only case I can think of.

    Harry Potter was the closet I've ever went to liking a movie more than a book, but the book still won out.
    I usually don't like the movie or show as much as a book.

    The only movie I can think of is...
    Bladerunner movie
    The book, "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep", was pretty bland.
