I've had pneunoma five times. I had an infection after a hysterectomy that almost killed me. I was in the hospital for 14 days, 10 of which I had 104.6 temp. My appendex almost burst and they barely got it out in time. I had mumps, all 3 types of measles, and the whooping cough before I was seven years old.

Car accident back in 1971. Lost my husband. Had both legs broken and right chest wall ribs broken, broken jaw, concussion. My two year old was in the car and had a broken leg and a broken arm. I am grateful to my Heavenly Father that my son and I survived. That was my longest time hospitalized.

Prostate cancer surgery on January 20, 2003! Got it all and no chemo or radiation necessary. PSA has been zero ever since. It does make you realize that health is so important and that life can be precarious!

Trigeminal neuralgia, also known as "suicide disease" because the pain gets so bad that people choose to end their lives because there is no cure or relief from the pain. I am one of the very very very lucky 1% who can get relief from anti inflammatory steroids.

Yes, I had bacterial gastroenteritis. I would have kept throwing up until I died, except hospitals and drips come in handy. I had to have 4 litres of fluid pumped into me.

And I had a staph infection in the 60's when they did not have all the antibiotic they have today. Many people died from it at that time.

Yup, put my arm out for the anesthesia and thought, well life's been great. I was so at peace with dying because I was in so much pain for over 36 hours. I was truly shocked when I woke up in Intensive Care. Still am shocked I survived, although my quality of life has decreased a lot.
