Have you ever had a prayer come true?

Well, not that I know of. If it has, it's been a long time waiting and severely gone overboard (e.g. If I asked God to make me bigger, it's likely I was a kid (and I was the smallest of my classmates) and years later after reaching adulthood, I've gotten bigger in weight.) While it is said, "it rains on the just and unjust," I feel that I've experienced more wrath and that my prayers are unheard.

I've had a ton come true.

There are different kinds of prayers and some are more likely to come true. Ask a child and he will pray for good grades or a new baseball or some candy at Christmas. He may or may not get those things, but it isn't because his prayers were or were not answered. A more mature prayer might pray for courage or wisdom or faith or strength to do the right thing. These prayers aren't always answered in obvious ways, either. But as you mature in praying, you will see the spiritual benefits of prayer and also the emotional benefits. There is a story about footprints in the sand. If you have faith, it is a good parable for how faith and prayer work. Even praying for somebody's health, though not to be discouraged, doesn't always lead to the expected or hoped for results.

Some things I prayed for happened and some didn't. Coincidentally, now that I am an atheist, the things I want to happen still happen at about the same rate they did when I would pray for them.

Yes. More than once. I have a job, I've got a place to live, and the kids are all right. I would have given up if I didn't pray and have some sort of faith that the impossible would be possible.

All prayers are answered. It's just sometimes not the answer we wanted.

When I was little I prayed to God to make me feel less afraid of a storm. I did feel better afterwards, but I realize that this was all in my head.

My nephew who was born very premature lived. This was 30 years ago and is doing pretty well.

But then again i don't pray, I'm more a go out and actually do something kind of guy.

many prayers have been answered...and its god's time when they are answered..he has a reason for it..

instead of sitting on my ass praying for something I went out and made it happen myself instead of relying on some made up douche bag of a "god" to do it for me. I mean actually thinking that a god cares what I want enough to make it happen for me is arrogant and what would make my prayers more important then the little girl with cancer that only wants to see her next birthday... Then there are the people that thank god for the work their doctors did to fix them up... 'I prayed to get better and I did'... no your doctors fixed you not god.

I've had a few come true. Now im waiting for a few more to come to light, but you know what, gotta wait for it. :) Because in the end, it is worth the wait. :)
