The worst we ever had was when we where trying to help a friend that didn't have a place to go. He ate more food than me and my husband combined, without paying for any of it. He stayed up really late, and then got pissed off at us when we complained at how loud he was. My autistic son would often be awake at 5 am and want to watch his movies. The friend would flip out because he was trying to go to sleep at that point and complained that we never cared about his needs. At one point, he left and didn't come back for 5 months. No phone calls, no nothing. We couldn't get a hold of him, not even through his mother, who he was apparently staying with. So we started to use his computer, which he left behind. He showed up one day, out of the blue, no warning, flipped out that we didn't respect his boundaries, packed up his one possession and didn't speak to us for a couple of years.
Last week he came to visit, stayed 2 nights. Tonight he tried to invite himself over again. I cannot stand him.
Mostly because I never had a room mate. I was in four different apartments before I met my wife and never had a room mate. I liked my Independence keeping things neat and tidy, cooking what I wanted and coming and going without having to worry if someone would be there when I got back.
"Many years ago I had a roomate who lacked in character", For a short time it was OK but after 3 months he would not take care of his chores and made excuses as to why he could not take up the slack of our agreed upon personal financial responsibilities... "So I moved out".
I have not goteen to college yet, I have a month left before I go. I have talked to roomate over email and we have similar interests (same majors, intertwined careers, etc) and room expectations. I guess that roomate math system they have really works. SO EXCITED!!! I hope I am not dissapointed.
Yes me. I really mentally tortured my first college roommate. He moved out after about three months and the counselors decided I was incapable of being a good roommate. Double single on Kenmore Square worked for me at the time. Looking back I am not proud at how rude me and my friends were to the kid.
I answered NO but the screen jumped and I am tagged in the wrong spot. I have NEVER had a BAD roommate. I've had a strange one, but that's hardly bad. I'm lucky.
