my father hated me from the day I was born, we had many conflicts, he left my life in 1989 for good, I don't know if he's still alive, he made his choice, I'm sure he's happy with his life now if he is still alive

My father has passed and we never had a pysical confrontation we had a very close relationship our whole family was very close.

I have never gotten into a physical confrontation with my father but I've said things that probably caused internal bleeding.

He once said, "I'll bet you'd spit on my grave." I answered that I wouldn't do that because I hated standing in line.

When I was 16, I thought I could take the "old man". So I bowed up on him and clenched my fists. He hit me 5 or 6 times with such incredible speed that I found myself dazed and on the floor in the blink of an eye. That was the day that I learned that my dad had been a Golden Gloves boxing champ in his youth.

Even when my father was on his death bed, I would have taken a beating from him had he wanted to hand one out. I respected him and his fatherly authority.

No, and we had no relationship, I don't think he really wanted kids of his own. We got in hellacious arguements starting when I was about ten, but I always got the last word in. They were: "Bye! See you in x days."
