I got fired on Christmas Eve after first having been demoted to the file room in the back away from customer view because the executive secretary who had hired me overheard me speaking to my Mom in Spanish on my break. She felt I had intentionally fooled her into thinking I was white because my last name was Brown (maiden name) and I didn't look Hispanic. She preferred to keep the Hispanics in the back file room or the warehouse.
Actually yes, but It was because I called Labor Law on them and then an Agency that protects the rights of patients. There was a big investigation and they were shut down
I worked for the city's water district and was flushing out a dead-end asbestos water line. A woman came out and told me her water tasted odd, had a foggy look, and her kids were getting sick.
I never told her that she was hooked up to an asbestos line where the water sat pretty much dormant, I just told her if she had concerns about the water to have it tested.....I got fired
Union shop where the union honchos were in bed with the city keepers and I got no backup.
I got a merit raise and was terminated two weeks later by a company that was looking to cut costs. They used some very vague definition of "performance issues" despite the fact that I hadn't been written up or disciplined prior to being terminated. Worst was when I filed for unemployment, they successfully had the state deny my first 13 weeks unless I drove to the middle of the state to appeal. I was set to do so, but I received a job offer to start the date of my court hearing. Wanting to move on with life instead of fighting the unemployment "for the principle" of it, I reported to my new job instead and stopped fighting my unemployment claim. Nearly a decade later, I know it was the right decision; had I went to court instead of trying to report to work, there's no way in hell I'd be able to live in California, let alone be at where I am with my career today.
IMO, I was the moody aloof one at the office back then that didn't necessarily play well with management or the people I reported to. I was also the long-haired white guy dating a black woman in an overwhelmingly socially conservative office. At the time, it taught me a lesson on how to play the office politics game, as well as a lesson to keep my private life more on the DL. However, I now work at an office th...

However, I now work at an office that celebrates diversity where I get along with my co-workers without having to change who I am or what I'm about. In the end, I think I just needed to find the right work environment (though my constantly-evolving sense of maturity certainly keeps me gainfully employed.)
I did, because I was sexually bother by one mexican at work, they didn't speak english I told them to stop, I told my boss, he ignore it, one day I got tired and I punch the mexican in the face at work for touching me, my boss fired me because I hit the mexican.. I don't care the next day I found another job, ha! and because of that I called imigration on them, Ouch that hurts to fire people just because you don't understand the language OMG don't hire anyone that doesn't speak english ... I don't regreet defending my self

a very silly mistake of picking on a character who was very capable of 'handling himself''..
That was ME...
