Good afternoon to you miss Betty. Yep, I saw it on the history channel or the discovery channel. They were talking about how the sniper came into being and they mentioned that this little bird known as a snipe is very hard to shoot so folks that could do it regular were known as snipers.

I love the History Channel. I know about the little bird... but as a younger gal... to me a snipe was some sort of creature only found in the woods of our county. I pictured them looking like a Smurf or something of that sort.
