My first plane ride was in April, 1958, from LaGuardia Airport in New York to Knoxville, Tennessee. It was on Capital Airlines which went out of business years later.

More times than I can remember. Much of my family has several states between them, so it is cheaper to fly.

Yes, a friend of mine (actually my brother's friend) took me up one day and he allowed me to hold the "co-pilot's wheel" and stuff, as if I were taking control, just as if I were the one flying. It was nothing; of course. But I never landed or took-off, either. Ha! Anyway, that was a Cessna plane; as I recall; and it could comfortably seat two passengers in the back-seat as well. Flying is fun; I agree; but when you get older then it loses so much of its pizazzz. I also rode inside the empty hopper of a Crop Duster once and that was fun; as I was ONLY 11-years old. I realize that pilots have to have a very keen eye-sight as well as an acute sense-of-direction; which I have not been so-blessed with. LOL Of course, in my later years I flew as a passenger on several Jet-liner Trips .. . . Here in the USA, and mostly Asia.

So many times I cannot remember a particular number but I can say I traveled a bit when working so we will say about 20 years of travel. Taking a plane in the 60's was wonderful but since the 90's it really sucks.

I once had a first class flight (lucked out and got moved up) to Chicago on Pan Am and it was a bit of heaven. Great seats, excellent food, and now it is sad just to think about it.

PanAm was awesome. Fresh cooked food, freshly scrambled eggs, linens and proper silverware. Awesome. TWA was almost as good.

When I worked as a travel agent, I frequently got moved up-we were required to wear professional clothing when flying on TA fares. Nearly always an upgrade happened because we were dressed for it. LOVE flying first class, can't afford it, but LOVE a free upgrade.
