I donated blood to use on me for surgery but had to have a friend donate the
other unit I needed. Since my blood is very healthy and the most common they
would like for me to be able to donate blood all the time. I can't because I
have anemia after giving one unit.

I have tried at least 5 or 6 times, and every time I do, they tell me my Iron is way too low. I always heard that low iron is supposed to cause extreme fatigue. I am a cryonic insomniac that never seems to tire.

I've never donated blood yet, but I donate my plasma 2x a week since July of 2011 and will continue to do so. It doesn't hurt, it's just a needle stick, I've never had any issues, side effects or bruising, they are very clean and professional while the entire process takes about 2 hrs. Not only does it save lives, it puts extra cash in my pocket. They usually pay $240 a month in total; it's a win-win situation for a great cause!

:( ive signed up to do it like 5 times and every time they say i dont weight enough. makes me sad. they say that i would have to be 40 lbs over weight for my height and age.
