Once, it was when I came back from SEA and we took the polar route. We stopped to refuel and have something to eat, I think I was on the ground for about an hour and a half.
the weird thing about the ice in the middle of the state is that walking on it sounds just like the sound that Styrofoam makes when you rub it together (which I HATE, it's like the sound that drives people crazy when they scratch their nails across a chalk board) but the ice on the road is fairly safe to drive on because it's like your tires just stick to it nicely. Only if a warm wind blows through and warms it up enough to make it slick is when there is danger in driving.
I'd die.
