nah, northern africa sucks...but south africa is rather beautiful....or so I've been told...a friend of mine retired to South Africa and in the newsletters he's never been happier..

If I could just visit the historic parts without having to set foot in the middle east, I wouldn't mind, but I'm not hot on Egypt, et al. I don't think I would visit Saudi Arabia if paid to do it.

been there, prepare to sweat as you've never experienced before in your life....I wouldn't go to Saudi again if I was paid!! same with other parts of the middle east...except for Israel....I would go again in a heartbeat....

If you have visited Northern Africa or the middle-east....then you would understand...there are common amenities available in Israel that aren't in most middle east and African countries....as a history guy I appreciate what Israel represents....North Africa is horrendous to the senses and to the health....

Oh, I wish I liked to travel, because I woudl love to see Africa. I really have always wanted to see Egypt. However, Ghana looks beautiful.
