Every weekend during high school. $4.00 bucks a car load for 2 movies. Classic films like Roller Boogie, Don't Answer The Phone, Maniac, and Cheech and Chong flicks. :^D

It has been nearly 30 years since I went to one.In Pasadena Texas. My Cheap skate friend would park on the side road where we could see the screen, and actually hear the speaker box.

Not in a long time, they used to be a lot of fun back in my youth but most of them have been replaced by shopping malls and what not.

Years ago. Before development took over, the Flea Market where we used to set up was a Drive In. In the area where we live, Drive In Theaters are nothing but a memory.
    Have a nice day !

I'm pretty sure they don't have them in my country. Certainly in none of the cities that I've been to. They look cool though.

The last time I went was close to ten years ago. We are blessed to still have one of the very few working Drive-In's that are left.

The Sundance Kid Drive-In in Oregon, Ohio.

It was hard to hear when we had to go just by the speaker outside the car, especially if you were in the back. It's better now because of being able to tune into a radio station now. My favorite was getting to play at the park at the Drive-In in the dark while waiting for the movie to start & during intermission. Great memories! :-)

I forgot about the swings! I used to love the hot dogs and hamburgers going around on little stands while the man said, "Only 5 more minutes until the show begins..."

Did you wear pajamas so you would fall asleep after the first movie while mom and dad watched Dr. Zhivago or Lawrence of Arabia? LOL...

YES I did wear pj's too!! Took pillows & blankies! Was even better when I would get to go with friends whose parents had a truck that we could just lay in the bed of the truck to watch the movie! You know back when it wasn't illegal & they didn't worry about us falling out lol We had the concession stand & I remember them putting it on the screen, to get your snacks before the movie started in such & such time!

LOL...my uncle had a pick up and every time we would visit he take all the kids for a ride in the back. We would hang out and try to pick leaves off the trees! Can you imagine any one doing that today? :^D

No, if we did that today kids would be taken away & placed in foster care. We obviously weren't loved & they were trying to off us one by one! Dang we survived. lol

LOL. Not to mention smoking while pregnant, riding in the car while standing up in the middle of the front seat, no sunscreen so we got that "healthy" color, jungle gyms embedded in concrete, eggs cooked in bacon grease, etc...it is a miracle we survived. Kids today are wimps. :^D
