I walked out on a guy in the middle of a conversation in a bookstore downtown because he was not making sense talking to me. This silly man followed me almost home on the other side of town before I realized it (we must have taking the same frickin train).
I confronted him with the question of why was he following me, (after getting that weird spidey sense feeling) about two blocks from home. He replied that he wanted to come over to my house, I told him fiercely that if he followed me one more step, that I will kill him where he stood. I kid you no, I said that and I had no man made weapon on me.
This man's height was about 6 ft 3 inches and and my height is 5 ft 2 inches. He retreated very quickly. This was over 10 years ago.
Scene 2:
About nine months ago, a guy I would normally see at a bus stop across from my job (i've seen him every day) wanted my phone number and CONFESSED that he was a stalker in the same breath. I added, 'just for that I'm not giving you a damn thing, and no, I don't want your number.' WTF!?
The next week, he tried to retract his statement that he was *JOKING*, I told him there are laws against that and he waited too long to take it back because he meant what he said and I have a no BS policy on stalkers. He was silent after that. I never saw him take the bus in the afternoons again. : )
Enforcing healthy/strong boundaries, good. Having weak/nonexistent boundaries, bad!
