Define long? Not really, I end it with a smart ass comment, that's that. I'll have my say but I have already learned in life, that more times that not you have to agree to disagree & leave it at that. I'm not going to change your view & you're not going to change mine. Sadly, some don't seem to get that.

I can say there are times when it is frustrating to deal with certain people...indeed so..however..they can be ignored ..can't they? especially here?

Yes

And the other person never seems able to deal with the fact that I have a different opinion than them. One person said people should not be allowed to say political views if they were offensive, and I disagreed as I thought it was against freedom of speech. He continued to rant for days about what a racist idiot I was.

I like long arguments in a typed forum. It makes it easier to research and openly debate with facts, and being able to pull quotes directly from text minimizes the "bububut I didn't say THAT!" one gets in real life arguments. Not running, no hiding, just knock-down drag-out arguments mind-to-mind.

Many of them. Not as many now a days but I used to really go at it with some people... Usually any interesting arguments that I get into that I'd like to see go really long I get blocked because the other person is immature or that's my impression anyways.
