My take on this question would be that if someone finding out about what I considered doing was a bad thing they I would know that I still would know so would never do it.
My feeling is that if I can't feel good about it why would I ever want to do it.

Yes, I sure have. Worrying if some one will find out has probably kept me out of a lot of trouble over the years by not following through with the thoughts.I am sure it has also hindered me in making steps of improvement.
