over my life time and i am only 15 i have had 20 cats 40 dogs and 5 mice all verry old and they were going to put them down i could not see that happen so my mom adoped them they all lived 3 years with us but not all at once.
both of my wonderful dogs i have adopted. . . easier for me though because i live by a dog pound and i see people drop off unwanted pets all the time. sad but true. :( at least i saved two of them. :)
Well not thru legit adoption but in a sense. Both of my dogs were strays at one point. We took them in a few years ago and I absolutely love them to pieces :)
Not through the council pound or RSPCA adoption protocol though.
I've nurtured young birds before in climate controlled incubators that I thought were strong enough to raise to a point where they could be re released.
Earlier attempts failed as I couldn't resist giving them human contact beyond the bare needs.
Often a time I put a few out of their misery if they had ants etc burrowing into them or had broken bones etc.
ALL OUR ANIMALS WERE ADOPTED, BUT ONE.....SHE ADOPTED US. DOBIE CAME TO OUR BACK DOOR AND WOULDN'T LEAVE....SHE STAYED TILL SHE DIED, ABOUT A DOZEN YEARS.
I got two Shepherd mix dogs from rather sad circumstances. The first one,Buster, was being abused next door from where my band rehearsed and the 2nd one,Shenzi, was left at a house behind my ex-brother in laws house. The renters just left her there (she was only a couple months old). I don't want to continue thinking about this as it makes be very sad but I did want to say that Buster lived for 15 years and Shenzi for 11. They were good doggies.
All my animals have been adopted, the only times I've had animals that were bought from a pet store were the dog and cat my parents got me when I was three.
i have 3 dogs
1 cat
1 rat
1 bearded dragon
1 gecko
6 quo fish
