Yea, i used to go on them all the time. This one time, when my cousin came to visit, we got on the chatroom with two different computers that were like less then a foot away from each other, and we had the same avatar thingy, and i had a "boyfriend" on there, and since me and my cousin looked the same, he thought she was me, so when i showed up to her and him in a different chat room thingy, he was like, "well, can't i marry you both?" Me and my cousin never laughed so hard in our lives. And then my other cousin was a chick, but my cousin that was with me for the first one, and that cousin was a dude(she had a dude avatar) and she found my other cousin on the chat room, and like asked her to marry her(jokingly) and she said yes! LMAO!!
Well, for those old enough to remember BBS's... Yes, I used to talk in chat rooms all the time. I once logged in over 980 consecutive minutes... I would have been there longer but, by that time, I was carrying on 8 concurrent conversations in chat and 4 concurrent private (/p) concurrent conversations...
I literally felt a fuse in my brain fry and everything went haywire. I started responding to the wrong people with the wrong answers. Everybody started saying "huh?" to me and I had an instant gnarly migraine. I immediately hit "Ctrl-H" (that was the then emergency bail-out code that logged you off immediately) and it took me a day and a half to recover...
Sigh... Those were the days... the days when you "actually" knew your online friends and hooked up with them at weekly BBS meets... Some in the L.A. area might remember me as Tall Man
Not really. In the mid 90's I tried one or two because my roommate was into them, but I didn't find it all that exciting. So I never really got into them.

Haven't been to any lately.
