Memorial Day Weekend 1981. I had to stay at friend's house while Mom, dad and my brother pulled out carpet and took out the furniture. It was scary.

thats the great thing about living on top of a hill :)

some of the farm fields near us have flooded but never our yard or house or any of the houses near us.

not in my part of Texas; too many hills I guess. My aunt and uncle use to live in Conroe near Houston and they lost their whole house because of a flood.

Yes, and had to countersue the landlord when they took me to court for damage to the residence. I got time lost from my business. court costs, and the moron lost her realtors license as well for violation of FL Law.

It also started an investigation into her business practices which I heard pretty much ruined her because of her numerous code violations against tenants.

I guess this rat had been dealing with mice so long she thought it was okay to bite a dog of war.

Every hurricane or sever storm. Southeast Texas has lots of low areas.

I live at too high an elevation, but sometimes at the end of our road down the hill it can flood a little, just briefly!

The town where I live is on the bank of a river but is high enough it never gets into the town part and my house is up on the highest hill in town..

I hated Irene and sadly out of all the houses in my town MY house was the only one to lose electricity. >_>

but where i live is kinda on a small hill, so the water did not reach me, thank god!
but the water outside my friends house reached my sisters knees, and she's 6 feet tall!
