I don't ride well in any vehicle with compacted seats and windows that I can't roll down. I rode the Greyhound with my mom when I was 7 from Chicago to Indianapolis to see my grandfather, and then when I was 19 from St. Louis to Ft. Lenardwood Mo. It was only 3 hours that time but it was a miserable 3 hours for me. I can travel by train long distances, but I have to have a sleeper car and be allowed to go to sleep. I don't do well on planes. Next time I take a plane long distance, I want a valium!!!!!

From Dallas Texas to Live Oak FL, it was pure hell, the bus was crowded, with standing room only for hours at a time, and when I was able to sit the only place was near the latrine, which smelled like it hadn't been emptied in a while...I am 6'3" tall with a large frame and the seats are tiny with little leg room and my legs had a sharp cramp in them the whole time. The bus was running hours behind schedule and when I arrived at the Live Oak station, I was informed apologetically that my bag with Military gear was put onto the wrong bus by mistake, the Live Oak station was closed and there was nothing open within walking distance and the pay phone was broken so I wasn't able to inform my ride who had came and left already, that I had arrived late. I sat outside on a bench in the middle of the night in Army Class A's for about 5 hours before I was able to get a ride to my destination which was 34 miles away from the station by car.

I actually had to purchase clothing to wear while I was on leave and donate it to charity when I left, because we couldn't have civilian clothes at the time, luckily Greyhound located my bag in Witchita, KS and mailed it to me via UPS, it arrived one day before I had to return, I decided to fly back even though it was more expensive.

LOL!!! sounds about right....I had a hellish ride as well....should've been 14 hours took 24. Stinky crowded a woman tried getting me to "come stay with her, she would take care of me like she did all her girls" A woman broke a jar of pickled pigs feet it stank to high heaven...it was hot and I kept getting hit on even though I avoided eye contact. Some people don't understand body language...LOL
