Has anyone ever had empty nest syndrome? My oldest is well old and my youngest is mid 20s..and I am about to experience it!!! Yay or Nay?

My husband and I moved in together in 1995 and have always had his kids or my kids living with us..or a sister..I am totally looking forward to it!! Your opinion please!

My last one that just moved out was a good kid too...he is ahhh 28..my husband and I have kids moving in and out since before we got married. The last couple months been awesome!!

I'm pretty much over that by now. My youngest child is 35 !

I remember, years ago, in 1976, as America approached its bicentennial celebration. Dear Abby ran a column for several weeks, asking people to send in what freedom meant to them. Many of them came up with several different, eloquent answers about the sacrifices that our forefathers, and our military, had made.

At the start of July, an elderly woman's response finished the topic.

"Freedom is when the kids move out and the dog dies !"

Yes it is..I'm loving it already...now if I could just make those kids next door understand that just because you have a key does not mean you shouldn't knock.....

we are starting to get tastes of this ... our oldest is on the verge of 23 and the youngest is 20 ... it seems as though they are gone more than they are home, and when they're home, they are often accompanied by friends and/or girl-friends ... we have friends who are in the same situation, and we empty-nest couples do a lot together ... two weeks ago, 6 of us did an all-day outing on bikes, with lunch on an open-air patio with other adults ... there is life when the nest is empty ...
