'The Book Thief' by Markus Zusak; it's hard not to look at the world differently after reading it.

It was called "Sword of Truth" series and it detailed exactly how the socialist take over destroys factories and destroys lives. Even though it was fiction and Lord Rahl was fictional it still was an eyeopener for me & woke me up to what was happening in our country.

The only one book would be the Bible but many others have impacted me greatly.....

    Atlas Shrugged
    Liberal Fascism
    The Road to Serfdom

Those are just a couple that come to mind.

i think several books have at least. i would like to think the bible has although i am not half as good a christian as i should be. george orwells 1984 has changed the way i view government that gets too big and powerful at the cost of the people's freedom.

I started reading science fiction at age 8 and 60 years later I see that most of what I read is now science fact.

Yes, I am lucky. I love my job and am extremely grateful for it. It's wonderful to work with kids and also get them excited about reading.

Yeah I got hooked on reading in the 4th grade, flunked 8th grade cause I was reading books instead of doing school work. Couldn't help it I'd get started on a good book and couldn't put it down til I was finished. Still the same way fortunately I read pretty fast. A reg paper back is good for about two to three hours if I sit down and don't stop til I'm done. Sure did help when I went back for my BS in CJ.

LOL! I often do the same thing. I now have a Nook reader. I can keep up to 1500 books on it. I've started to get a lot of my favorites on it, as it's great for travel. I try to moderate my all night reading sessions until winter, spring or summer break, but occasionally, I can't resist a book. Try not to get my sleep schedule too out of whack during the school year.

Many times. The one most relevant today: Atlas Shrugged. That book taught me that I have a right to exist.

Myself the same. Finally the world made more sense. I read thru it twice, then never again, and it stuck for 50 years now.
