The last time I was in Victoria, I went to high tea at the Empress. It was so much fun! I got a taste for crumpets once when visiting, and whenever I see them (occasionally, I can find them in the lower 48), I'll get them. Yummy toasted with butter and jam.

And Portland is just cool like that! :-) A friend of mine married a guy from Portland and has now lived there for 12 years. She misses her Canadian food. Her boys say that our Cheerios taste different-lol.

I've never bought Chex so I haven't noticed. I'll be looking next time I'm in the store, just to see. She can use Shreddies. It's not quite the same but it's like making your own Nuts and Bolts

Well I don't eat that stuff so I am no expert but I am pretty sure that I have had some that seemed like Shreddies to me. Maybe that's why I didn't like it-lol.

Aren't Shreddies sort of small shredded wheat? That would make a big difference between Chex and Shreddies.

Then a lot like Wheat Chex, which is the least appealing of the 3 standards. I often skip the wheat altogether and just use Corn and Rice Chex.
