Girls' High School Track Gone Wrong: Why'd She Keep Going? [VIDEO]

This video really made me feel bad, but I'm really impressed that the girls kept going b/c lord knows I would have walked right off the track after the first scrapped knee. She even continued throught the tears...that shows determination!

I would have quit after the first hurdle.... Oh who am I kidding? I would have WALKED the whole length and just stepped over the hurdles. I hate gym with a burning passion. I don't even care enough about it to bother running. I just see it as a period where I could have had a study hall to work on writing my novel, as in time that could have been spent doing something more productive than playing with balls. Because I don't go to school to play with balls.

Poor baby.. Atleast she didn't give up, which is more than I can say for alot of kids and adults I know.... People give up and quit way too easily in this society, for all sorts of so-called "reasons".. But the ones who make it in life are the ones who can pick themselves up,dust themselves off, and keep GOING!!!! And finish what they start!!!
No excuses.... Embarrassing or not, they have the courage to face it and move onward and upward.
I think it's funnny though how people who should quit, don't, but the people who do quit shouldn't.... go figure...

i think she realized everyone felt bad for her so she fell more so no matter what EVERYONE felt bad for her.............. or she just couldnt do it :)

congrats to both of the girls that struggled with the hurdles.

some times it is just to do our best that counts, there is not one Olympic champ in the video, but I see several champion spirit .. congrats to them...

It sucks to fall, but falling is a part of hurdling. She prolly knew that when she decided to run the race. Way to finish hurt and still not come in last!

honestly i would have stopped right after i fell the first time but thats jus me, thats good for her to not want to give up :)

Even Madonna fell when she was singing Like a Virgin in L.A. Madonna tripped over her veil and fell really hard,she got right back up and kept on singing.There are always going to be tripps and falls in life, you have to learn to pick yourself back up!KEEP GOING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She attends a Catholic school, so she's probably long been trained to continue doing what she's doing despite all logic and reason dictating that she should stop.

The more salient point is that your children will be reporting to her children. Caveat: Your children will need to first acquire and maintain employment.

I am a track coach and I'll tell you that is true courage. Many times, courage is enough to get you through. Good for her!

It's sortof a form of pride i suppose... but it's the pride of being able to finish a race, knowing you did your best, or at least made it to the end.

Aww. I felt so bad for her. That video was hard to watch. It looks like she was crying at the end there. But she finished the race and she should be proud of that.
