I would bet that the lion would take down the male bear.
I would also bet that if it was a male lion up against a female bear protecting her cubs,then the female bear would woops the male lions butt.

That's not a Grizzly though, black bears don't get as big as they do.

Lion!

No doubt the bear is larger and more powerful. A tiger is also larger than the African lion. But I think the lion would beat both for the simple fact that because lions are social, they fight, often. They must keep place with the ladies from other males and fight Hyenas often. Could a bear or tiger fight off hyenas, I think not. That comes of ages of practice. That's all male lions do, kick butt. They don't even hunt, just kick much booty.

My money would probably be on a lion, Grizzlies can be ferocious but they also strike me as the type that would just become agitated and walk away.

The Lion would probably win.It depends on the animals personality.I think the Bear gives up after getting scratched to almost death.He gives up and climbs a tree.
