Bookworm 2009/09/01 05:00:27answer+3When animals, of any sort, act like this it usually means that something is bothering them. A change in weather could affect behavior, a new person, noises, or maybe a new pet that you have can all be a contributing factor. It could also just mean they are trying to entertain themselves or are happy.

- mikeeonly 2012/06/26 00:07:29answerI worked for a bird wholesaler, and in the pet industry for a number of years. I've also trained many birds. I've had parakeets who were excellent pets and talked like crazy. Any bird will be more interactive with you if kept by themselves. No mirrors, fake birds, or anything that will attract their attention. They need to direct their attention to you. I'm sure I will get some flack for that comment. If they seem very hyper, one may be ready to breed and the other one may not be ready. You didn't indicate what sex they were. Any questions, feel free to contact me at fundude@muchomail.com I'll help you any way I can. I've owned as many as 25 parrots at one time.reply

One thing that I forgot to mention is that birds are products of their genetics and do have personality traits just like any other animal, including us. Some are very personable, while others are not. I've seen birds come out of the box talking and landing on me.reply - sherrylomas 2012/01/10 00:47:37answeryour parakeets are just acting out like a toodler talk to them morereply
- VampGirl_777 2009/11/25 19:09:21answer+1Just that they are very hyper birds, mine do that all the time. I, too, was wondering about that so I asked my grandma. My grandma used to breed parakeets and she said they were fine.reply

+2Sounds to me like they are just cleaning their beaks or sharping them. Do you have toys in the cage? Sounds to me like you have happy birds....mine used to chirp a lot when there was music or tv on. Do you play music around them? The louder the music the louder they chirp.reply -
yeah i do play music around them thank you :D were ur birds female or male?reply - JColliu Paint i... 2009/09/01 15:26:22
+1My mom used to breed them, but I only had one at a time...a female and she had the run of the apartment when I was home....demanded attention, so much that if I was reading the paper, she would fly onto the paper and start biting it for attention. But they like music...and they chirp a lot when there is noise in the room.reply
