I bought it and was SO dissapointed and confused by the incoherent plot that I gave the DVD to my sister to keep. The movie gives you just one random scene after another. And it just felt like they wasted all that money and tech on something that's SO forgettable.
I saw the Spirits within movie in the theater. I played the games never finished them. The anime series is unrelated to the 2006 film. The film just expected you to know stuff that happened between FF7 and the CG movie. I had a basic knowledge of FF7 when I bought the DVD in 2006. But the film felt like 2-3 sequals away from FF7!!! I watched the recap extra before I even touched the movie!!! Because I never beat FF7. That and the movie was gayer than the game. Why do dudes have to look like girls again? The film just didn't deliver on the promise of its advertising.
