If I had to have only one thing it would be an AK47, ammo is cheap and found easily, it always works, it's easy to clean, and it's simple. It's not pretty or as accurate as some other weapons but it's dependability makes it a winner.
Practice makes for control and if you're been watching the damn muslims on the news for those air shots those fools don't even aim, I'll bet they couldn't hit the camel they've been sleeping if it was ten feet in front of them. Single shot is fine, it's more accurate, the idea is hitting your target not wasting ammo and spraying bullets all over the place. Wake up.
even then it has kick and no i watch weaponology and military channel i know weapons the ak frame has killed more human beings then any other weapon system ever made but new weapons have become more reliable i believe the ak 47 is obsolete but thank you for a civilized debate. some people just can't take criticism at all. so thank you
My favorite or a just a favorite in general?? I like my Beretta M-96 pistol but my Zastava M-59 sks can really reach out and touch some one. It's got an effective range of around 400 yards. At 100 yards I've stacked my shots consistently. And the rifle even has a grenade launcher on it. You put the grenade on the end of the barrel and just fire it off.
That's actually a rather difficult question since each weapon serves a particular mission profile. For handguns, I prefer a M1911. For a rifle, I prefer something in .45-70 (e.g. Marlin 1895) for hog hunting and an M1A for longer range shooting.

I have this thing about "imminent threats."
Always did think the Vulcan cannon was too cool...
