I think 7 and 17 are two of the most popular numbers in our country. I just googled that, and I am pretty close. My birthday is on the 17th and so I have always been partial to 7 or 17.....but as a teacher, I often try to do things fairly when children have a squabble or I am trying to allow them to have a choice in picking a treat or something.... So I give them opportunities to pick a number between 1 and 20 to be fair. When I do that they invariably pick 15 or 17. (so I always go higher or lower ). If I say between 1 and 10 they pic 5 or 7. Interesting how they always use the same numbers year after year. I write down random other numbers and show the rest of the class so they know I didn't pick a favorite child.

I add license plates as I drive down the road and I treat them like a Blackjack hand and try to hit 21.
