Crown Candy Kitchen

Old fashioned soda fountain, makes own ice cream and candies, esp for Christmas and Easter. Milkshakes out of this world.
Barbecue pork steaks

Sliced pork butt, not heard of in parts of country. Steam meat first, then slow cook, basting with sauce at all times. Keeps it juicy.

Back when the Lou (esp Southside) was mainly German, there were a multitude of German Rest. which served Sauerbraten on Thursday only, since it takes a long time to make. Miss it greatly, miss german restaurants.
