I will always pick Jimi Hendrix. Always. What that man could have continued doing had he lived. Sometimes I listen to him playing and I can't help but cry.

well in the case of cobain ,staley ,joplin and hendrix i have a hard time feeling anything but ripped off, because their deaths were completely 100% preventalbe a result of lifestyle and or depression.as far as tupac, marvin gaye sam cooke (allthough that is a strange one )and bob marley, well we were absolutely ripped off they were just stolen from us (what a f***in rip) murder is a horrific awful thing that idealy shouldnt happen

buddy holly and otis redding well accidents happen but yes those 2 were taken far too soon for sure (ps you forgot ritchie valens )

and as far as micheal goes im not sure we will even know just wth happned there sadly
sorry to ramble so much but i actually think about this from time to time so thanx for the chance to vent a bit on the subject

Those were favorite musicians but I expected to find a list of movie and tv stars. .. ..then I would have picked Heath Ledger

Buddy Holly, by a very wide margin.
A true musical pioneer and the "REAL" father of Rock-and-Roll.
He was a sky-rocket in mid-launch when he died. I can only imagine the classics we all missed out on.

I would have said Ian Curtis but maybe not that popular, Kurt Cobain Hendrix, Jim Morrison.. They all died too young but my musical taste made my choices
