Technically and etymologically its IS a 'planet' the word is derived from the greek word 'planeta' or 'wanderer' to explain why some of the lights in the sky seem to wander all over the sky in the course of a year...a planet can be argued as any body held in place by a larger body's gravitational pull

By definition, it orbits another planet and is therefore a satellite of that planet....
