I realize that but seems to me a person should know who their Vice President is, or who is the Prime Minister of their country and everyone should know the capital of France. IMO

It's just what people care about. They know what is important to them, and if that is baseball stats or politics, as long as your happy, who cares? Everyone deserves to focus on what makes them happy. I think a sign of intelligence is being able to make your life fit you, not others.
