No, no, no, not ever, not once....as the VP of SADD in school, it would be embarrassing if ever caught....or worse! Not to mention I could not live with my SELF if I ever harmed another person through my terrible choices and decisions!
I haven't since I got a DUI in 2001, but... until then.. i never hesitated to drive dead drunk and did 100s of times. I always talked about how I had no problem with it, and when I got pulled over it was for an only semi-aggressive move (accelerating to make a yellow in the middle of nowhere by the only late night fast food store in the area) that the only reason I'd ever hesitate to do would be if I was driving drunk and afraid of getting pulled over and caught. Usually I just kept it at the speed limit, made full stops at stop signs, ect ect.. I slipped. Anyway.. that was in california where you never know what you might get pulled over, and I never wanted to risk another one, so I never did it again, but to this day firmly believe that I and many people can operate a vehicle just fine drunk. My father habitually had a couple beers handy on long driving trips. He thought it was the perfect time for a couple drinks. Never got caught.
That's an awful big, aggressive generalization. It's kind of an obnoxiously trendy thing to say in a way, too (like haha- "your personal opinion?" that you thought of on your own? give me a break). It's also biased. I never killed anyone behind the wheel. I've never even been in an accident. My opinion is maybe you're right about some of us... maybe even most.. but sometimes.. it's legit. Some people actually can handle driving drunk.
Just look around next time you are eating at a resturant. Notice a crap load of people drinking? There are more people drinking and driving then you ever want to know about. Most of these people would probably come out against drinking and driving when ask in a place like this.
The penalty for the second one cost me everything! My job, my savings, my freedom, my dignity, almost my marriage and 9 years later its still costing me financially! Statistically, 3 out of 100 will be arrested. If you think you won't get caught, you're wrong! Don't risk it all!

I do on occasion have a beer when I eat out, and drive home afterwards.
But I'm not drunk from one beer combined with food, and it's normally 30 minutes to an hour after the beer before I drive.
