The UK has three national parties that are of some amount of prominence Labour, Liberal Democrats and Conservative Vs USA's two....Democrats and Republicans, so straight off the bat the UK has more variety.
Besides the American political set-up is practically a direct copy of the situation in Britain, in the eighteenth century is the Presidency. The powers of the president of the USA are almost exactly the same as those exercised by King George III. Which is arguably ironic.
