No way. Gothic culture is still very much alive, though many subcultures have recently spawned (scene, emo, etc.) Goth is, for the most part, a lifestyle. Emo is, for the most part, a state of mind or a trend. Emo hasn't really been around long enough to see if it could eventually be a lifestyle as well, but goths and goth culture has been around for hundreds of years. That's pretty hard to replace. Goth isn't limited to just liking black. Goths are really just normal people who also enjoy the darker parts of life. There's goths that color their hair, wear lots of makeup, get piercings, and wear all black, but there's also goths who don't color their hair at all, or wear makeup, or always dress in black. They don't all worship the devil either, (to inform those closed-minded people who think that they do.) Many people mistake Gothic styles for emo styles nowadays, because it's become so popular. True goths are hard to find, but they're out there. Goth won't die, or be replaced. There will never be a "new goth".

i dont think emos are the new anything we're exactly the way we've always been except with a lot of posers now. emo kids dont always cut themselves and when they do its not for attention so dont say it is. we're not whiny. and we dont "blend in" thats the point, we just dont.

no way in hell. i do apreciate emo though. becouse theres so many of them it keeps hot topic open so i can go in, buy something (rarely the clothes. i like to make my own style and keep away from the genarics) and get the hell out. you ever seen the pratty lil kids in there? its sickening.

no i dont think emos are the new goths i think its just as it was before except there are now more emos than before cuz times are getting harder to be a teen and people are more depressed than it was back when times were easier
