Cheboygan mi - about 15 miles from the Mighty Mac. It is beautiful up here. Just when I get bored with the snow -- beach time rolls around. And yes - I do love the snow!
Some parts of the East Coast are pristine and beautiful. I live in Maine which is the extreme north-eastern part of the US. We have a low population and a clean lovely coastline. It's very natural here.
You can't beat that! I've got a little place I like to go to out here on the East Coast. It too is often deserted. It's called Biddeford Pool and to me it's magical.
I was born on the left coast, went back 2 the midwest 4 a minute, then shot 2 the southwest(Albuquerque) 4 years, then back 2 the left front: SF Represent! Then Palo Alto, then back 2 Seattle My day(and night) job~
I grew up here (In the Buckle of the Bible Belt), left here more than once (both east and west coast) and have returned yet once again. I still miss my beach in Malibu. I just wish that the third coast was the same as it was in the 60's and early 70's. Even Travis is polluted now. One cannot go back in time, so I will live here and fulfill my obligations once again. Then it's back to election season (sigh, I'm not a candidate, just very active during the election cycle). Life was so much simpler when... well, never mind, you wouldn't believe me anyway. My four schools and my five degrees:
My apologies for not including Columbia Pacific (in San Rafael, CA) The campus is no longer there but they moved everything to New York.
My point is (no matter how convoluted it seems), see the world. Learn what you can. Don't be proud to be a Texan (as I once did, look at the politics of this sick state), make us proud that you are a Texan!

I've been in about 40 of the States, but never in Iowa. I had a friend who was from Clear Lake and lived in a town called "Red" something. I can't remember the name now. She named her son Boone, after Boone, Iowa. Her family still lives there. She loved it.
My day(and night) job~
East Coast only April-November.
