Dream analysis #2 Currently the lost dream is taking over, but for years I have had a recurring dream that all my teeth fall out.

It is a very real feeling when I dream it. I feel each tooth get loose and fall out one at a time, sometimes in rapid succession and sometimes it is more like over a period of days. I am not terribly bothered by it in the dream.
You!

That's actually a very common dream. It means you feel powerless, not in control of a certain situation.

Apparently that is a common dream, but I have never had it. Can't remember what it "means".

I have this same dream sometimes. I've yet to figure it out.

My dream dictionaries all say losing teeth means new money coming in.... I hope they're right.

But like I said before - it's more about your emotions. If you're not bothered about losing your teeth, then I'd probably say that you likely have a healthy attitude about losing things precious to you.

I tend to find the teeth dream fascinating. The sensation of the teeth falling out leaves me feeling almost like a detached observer except I feel it more than see it.

But what are your emotions in it. It's not physical feeling you need to focus on - it's emotional. You said that losing your teeth does not seem to bother you - but just what emotion *are* you feeling?

As far as I can tell, mostly surprise mixed with a bit of curiosity-why is this happening?

And this is when symbolism might actually come into play - unless you were dealing with something that might make you curious and surprised that could be related to how you view your teeth?

There doesn't seem to be much plot involved in the teeth dreams, or not that I remember. Sometimes I feel that I shouldn't let people know it is happening to me or they might not know how to handle it. Other times I spit out a tooth and announce, "here's another one!"

That's honestly a puzzle. But then, so are my 'losing teeth' dreams. ~.~ I don't know if I can be of much help with this one.

LOL-I wonder if the teeth just represent change that I cannot control. It might be physical, such as aging or my health.

LOL-I brush and floss regularly so I don't think the dream has anything to do with any real danger of my teeth falling out. I'll go for the symbolism in this case.

Well, what I meant was something you could actually associate with losing your teeth - loosing family, loosing physical items, something like that. So yeah, symbolism, I guess.

When it comes to symbolism, as I said - you'd be a better judge than I would. The dreamer often is, since it's their subconscious trying to speak to them.

Often our subconscious mind tries, in the form of a dream, to show us how to resolve a problem we have when conscious. My guess is that your conscious mind tells you that you are eating too much and so your subconscious is trying to give you a way out.
It is most difficult to eat when you have to gum it so.......problem solved. :)

Hair and teeth all tend to fall out whether in dreams or real life! I have had these dreams before! Something like Poultergueist when the guy was looking into the mirror and pulling off all of his flesh. In reality my teeth are wearing out and the hair on my posterior and the hair on my head are racing towards each other in order to stake claim to my back! Isn't older age wonderful!

ROTFL-well thank you for that visual. It does seem very unfair that old age means losing hair where you want it and gaining it in less desirable places. hairy ears

Did you loose a dental insurance when it started? I would suggest eating other people who are full of vitamins and have a lot of doctor care, the healthiest diet on the planet even after they go bananas :/

ooooh, teeth dreams. Those are actually quite common.
It could mean that you are feeling a sense of hopelessness. Teeth signify the power of the strength of your jaw, ripping, tearing, and shredding, adn to have them fall out could mean you are dealing with a loss of control in a situation.
Or, teeth dreams can stem from feeling anxious about your physical appearance, there are things you want to change or think should change...

I used to have that dream a lot before I left my husband and I think I have only had it once since leaving him a year and a half ago. I have a suspicion there is a connection.

Fun
