I'm just more of a fan of Dr. Seuss. Shakespeare was talented but I guess I find his stories dull, especially Romeo and Juliet. The only thing good about that play was Mercutio.

Without a doubt, it's The Bard for me. Chances are I would not be taking a Shakespeare class this semester and I would not have taken a course on him in my last year of high school if I did not like him. I was a Seuss fan when I was little, I doubt I would have taken a class all about him if it were ever offered. I haven't read one of his since I was young, I've been a Shakespeare fan for years. I have loved reading, watching and acting in Shakespeare plays. as well as reading his different sonnets. I think that he was a very talented and brilliant playwright.

When Blackadder went back in time, it wasn't Dr Seuss he beat up for hundreds of years of forcing English students to read and understand his works...

The quality of Shakespeare's writings cannot be compared with that of Dr.Seuss. Shakespeare is extraordinary. Dr.seuss was not a genius- Shakespeare was one of those rare literary geniuses. You don't find many people like this. The quality of his thoughts is just too extraordinary to be compared with Dr.Seuss.

"In my world, everyone's a pony and they all eat rainbows and poop butterflies!"

Ok I lied Shakespeare wins, but pooping butterfies is cool.

    NOT REALLY A TIE...........

It depends on who the audience is. If you're talking about America after being educated (indoctrinated) in public school than Dr. Seuss because the people would be to STUPID to understand Shakespeare.

Interesting question. I think, before answering, I should like to hear the bard's major plays performed in the reconstructed dialect which sounds rather like pirate-speech. Otherwise, the rhymes don't work.
