Dolce & Gabbana Releases Baby Perfume: Awful or Amazing?

Babies are adorable, lovable, and deserve to be well-pampered, but Italian fashion house Dolce & Gabbana wants to take that to a whole new level. According to TIME.com, Dolce & Gabbana is releasing a special edition perfume made just for babies. It seems like the perfect gift for parents who want their babies to smell good all the time--even during diaper changing!

Dolce & Gabbana states the perfume isn't being released for smelly babies, but rather to help babies "enhance" their natural scent. The fashion house recently posted a photo on Instagram, which looks to be one of the perfume's official ads. The baby perfume may be called a "true family commitment," but families will have to commit a decent amount of money for the fragrance.

The special edition baby perfume is available for $45, which isn't exactly cheap when parents have to also purchase their child toys, diapers, a crib, insurance, and more. While D&G;'s perfume sounds nice, that $45 could also go towards a bunch of scented wipes, baby powder, and lotion that can keep your child smelling nice and fresh.

They are babies! It's stupid and only for the money!

However, Rose the One, by Dolce & Gabbana smells very nice-for adult women of course.

Call me old fashioned but I prefer the smell of baby powder and Johnson's baby lotion. A baby should smell like a baby and not like the perfume counter at Saks.

If babies are clean, they already smell good, and if they're not, perfume won't help.

I'm not horrified though... Youd think it'd be bad for the kid.
I see more sense in a product like
    Baby/pets friendly perfume for adults.

Babies don't need to enhance their scent. The scent of babies is intoxicating.

I realize that babies don't exactly smell too pleasent at times, but babies are
still too young to be wearing perfume or calone.

i wouldn't say 'amazing' but its normal, companies have been making that stuff for a long time. they're just very light scented. i wouldn't use them on babies but i dont see anything wrong with it if used responsibly

In our world there are things that are needed, and then there are things that are ridiculous, waste, and just downright stupid enough for people to buy!! This is one of those things that someone would have to be completely ignorant to purchase. I dont care if it says "safe"- "non-allergenic" - "non-irritant....Babies are very sensitive and there are a multitude of reasons this idea is completely insane. Besides sensitive skin wise, a babies lungs should not be subjected to something such as a fragrance to be put on them other than baby powder!!! This would be something that someone like Paris Hilton would buy, just to be different, to be Chic, just like walking around with a tiny little dog in a purse...this is just as ignorant and just another dumb reason to spend money....I would think that in these times, that someone would come up with something to help people during economical hardships that would make life easier, not something that is so totally stupid and frivilous as this!! As I said about babies being sensitive for a multitude of reasons...this has greed written all over it involving a multitude of stupid reasons!!!! With a name like Dolce & Gabbana, I would expect something with class not something that makes them a complete ass.... Sookie ....USA

Oh, jeez ... one more meaningless status product to blow money on. Use the money to buy the poor kid a savings bond or contribute to his.her college fund. If a baby's scent needs to be altered, a little talcum powder or a clean diaper will usually do the trick, or maybe in extreme cases, Febreeze or Lysol.

I love the natural scent of babies....just after a bath, they have a natural smell to them that doesn't need any enhancement. Amazingly enough, there will be some parents that will run out to buy this crap!

So dumb I'm sure the celebutards will buy it by the gallons though just for the special d & g logo / status. Personally I like that babies generally smell of baby powder and baby oil. I'm not too concerned when there's way more important things to worry of other than scent.

I feel sorry for babies whose parents use perfume. Baby shampoo is soap-free for a reason, babies can't handle all that chemical stuff the average woman covers herself in on a daily basis. So naturally I say WTF to baby perfume.
