Several different trucks every day on our dead end street. The Ice cream is very expensive $1.50 a pop.

He has this cart and walks all over the neighborhood and wakes me up some mornings. Sometimes he plays Mexican music which is so funny because of the neighborhood. You hear me playin white music as I sell you stuff?
Then this one time I saw a unmarked white van playing ice cream music.

He sure doesn't play the same tune as the Good Humor man did and his truck will say 'Hello' at random. Still he is there.

At least that's what he claims to be. Has a truck with a household freezer unit and a loud annoying music track and he circles the block for hours on end. No class.

I was a Good Humor Man for 6 Summers on Long Island! The pay was good (commission), but the hours were long!

I liked the old Good Humor Men. What kind of rig did you have? My cousin had a bicycle with a little freezer on the front and a wonderful bell.

I drove a truck with a two door freezer on the back. In 1949 Jack Carson made a movie called "The Good Humor Man" and the truck he drove in the movie was the same one I drove many years later. In my final year, I drove a Van (Looked like the "Mr. Softee")where I could serve the children from inside the truck. I was in the suburbs. Your cousin must have been in the City or at the beach. Like your cousin, I would ring my bells!

We live high on a hill but I hear the ice cream man's truck in the neighborhood below us. In Canada the ice cream truck was called the Yummy Man. Our friends had a little girl that they took to mass with them on Sundays. When the communion bell rang she sang out very loud, "Oh goody the Yummy Man."
