Global overpopulation is a myth. If the entire population of the Earth (approx 7,000,000,000) were to gather for a group photo (standing ~shoulder to shoulder in evenly spaced rows) we would all fit into a land area the size of the city of Los Angeles.
You could give every person on Earth an acre of land (limiting this to only usable land, even) and there would be (usable) land area left over. With populations gathered primarily into cities, there is plenty of usable farm land to produce more than enough food for everyone on Earth to have all they need and more.

The problem is not with shortages of resources. The problems are with people who are power hungry, greedy, and not caring for anyone but themselves.

Makes it more difficult to sustain ourselves. Causes pollution and therefore health problems.

Well that would depend on what country you call home. The population growth in the US is barely holding steady at .963%. So I do not see my quality of life here being affected at all.

Especially when too many in the growning population want the government to give them everything. Think liberal lunacy.

Nope. "Developed" countries (the ones that owe the most money) trend to negative population growth while "developing" (they can barely get a loan)countries have higher birth rate.
This umbalanced state will be eventually balanced by the larger number of have not in the latter countries "working their way" into this stagnant "developed countries".
End result is less inequality among humans with more enjoying freedom and less repression. None of us will loose what we have, au contraire, we will gain more.

WHAT 'ever growing population'? EVERY industrialized nation is suffering a population meltdown. Those 'growing populations' are all third world countries that are being starved by their own corrupt leaders.

Humans are biological organisms, just like anything else. We are growing exponentially, and everyone knows that exponential growth eventually reaches its peak before an environment's carrying capacity is reached. Then quality of life will go down and people will die.

In a sparsely populated area, it could increase the quality of life, but in a place like England, it makes food, land and housing much more expensive, we have a rapidly expanding population on a tiny island and before long we'll probably spill out into the sea...

Simple supply and demand... with more people comes more demand, which puts pressure on the supply... somethings supply has no problem keeping up with the demand... other things they do. When the supply can't keep up, then that means some are gonna have to go with out, which then in return hurts the quality of life.

Not at all. It's the ever shrinking government and the ever growing corruption and greed which creates ever growing poverty. As someone with a B.A. in geography, I can tell you right now overpopulation pertains to carrying capacity not the amount of people there are. The most overpopulated city in America isn't New York, but it's probably Las Vegas, Phoenix, or Tucson.

I once read that it took 6 million years for the population to double the first time, and 40 years for it to double the second time. That was about 20 years ago, so by now it has doubled yet again. When there are so many of any species, usually something cataclysmic happens to "weed out the herd". We may have our day coming. Like with Affordable Health Care Act.

In some countrys it does, such as Hong Kong, the air is very polluted above this city, because there are to much people there.
