The examples seen are lead and executed by Republicans In Name Only, and do NOT "represent" the party-whole by any perspective. I grew-up in a GOP-house, and voted as such in my last effort (General-2006). When I concluded that the effort was in vain, due to voter-fraud and knowing what the "United States citizen" really is, I rescinded my voter status with the County Clerk & Recorder (April 2007).

In the old days, most Republicans were liberal while most Democrats were conservative, the opposite of what it is now. But even now, there are liberal Republicans and conservative Democrats.

Not even close these days. It's been 25 years since they were closely tied. And that's being liberal in my credit.

It would if they got rid of the old school strangle hold right wingers when they lost the election. Look at the mess their in now, and they still won't give up, laying low and out of sight doesn't change that level of arrogance and it will implode.

Nope - seems to be a very broad spectrum in that party hence the quarrels. Have to say, at least they have differences rather than the lock step thinking required by democrats just now. Used to be the other way around

There has not been a conservative republican in elected office since the 1920's. Liberal democrats like to brand current republican ideas as conservative, which only works because no one remembers what conservative governance is directed around. Take Paul Ryan's budget for example. It differs from Obama's proposal by 4 trillion over 10 years. What they fail to realize is neither option does anything to achieve a conservative principle, which is do not spend more than you make. If a conservative would be elected the federal budget would be cut by a minimum of 2 trillion per year, which would essentially cut federal spending in half. Which would accomplish another conservative principle, which is never borrow money out of necessity.
We as a nation have no conservative leadership because too many, regardless democrat or republican, have no sense of personal responsibility.

Throughout our nation's history, the conservatives have consistently been the big spenders. That doesn't translate to being "conservative" to me. Yet without proof, they always seem to get away with calling the Democrats the big spenders.

there's this thing called the deficit
    republicans hate it'
but they want the so-called Bush tax cuts that are immediately heaped upon it.
    They never explain the contradiction.

I have a friend that lived in the USSR and the stories he tells me would turn anyone away from the Tyranny of Communism that flows from Carl Marx.

Lining up around the block to stand in line for Toilet Paper is just the start.

was this a long time ago then? Because the USSR hasn't existed for years.
I've been to Russia several times after the soviet removal. i'd love to talk to ur friend who obviously called it the USSR. So he lives in the past and hasn't been there since, whereas I have.
