Does Anybody remember the fireworks displays at Fairmount Park in Philadelphia? This was in the late 40s.

My favorite was in the late 40s in Fairmount Park, in Philadelphia.. They put on billboard displays that depicted George Washington crossing the Delaware. Later they had a display that looked like Niagara Falls. Later there was a boy riding a bicycle. I think the local Gretz Beer Company paid for that one. No city can afford stuff like that anymore.
